The forthcoming American biographical sports drama film Big George Foreman: The Miraculous Story of the Once and Future Heavyweight Champion of the World (or simply Big George Foreman)[2] is directed by George Tillman Jr. The main subject of the movie is Khris Davis' portrayal of George Foreman, the world heavyweight boxing champion. Along with Forest Whitaker, it also features John Magaro, Sullivan Jones, Lawrence Gilliard Jr., Sonja Sohn, and Jasmine Mathews.

Synopsis:
George Foreman overcame a childhood defined by poverty to become one of the most promising young boxers in the world, but after having a near-death experience in the ring, he makes the decision to become a Baptist pastor and preacher and pledges never to fight again. He re-connects with his former trainer years later, when bankruptcy is threatening his failing gym, and goes on to become the oldest boxer to ever win the heavyweight title.

Production:
2021 saw the announcement of a biopic movie based on George Foreman's life. It would be directed by George Tillman Jr. from a script by Frank Baldwin and Tillman that was adapted from a screenplay by Dan Gordon, Frank Baldwin, and Tillman.Sullivan Jones was cast as Muhammad Ali, Khris Davis as Foreman, and Forest Whitaker as Doc Broadus.[3] Michael K. Williams had been scheduled to play Doc Broadus, Foreman's mentor and trainer, but he passed away before filming could start.
Filming:
Principal filming was scheduled to start in New Orleans, Louisiana, in the autumn of 2021 under the working title Heart of a Lion, but it was postponed due to Hurricane Ida's landfall. By that November, production was scheduled to continue in Shreveport, but for an unidentified reason, it was postponed until early 2022.[8] In New Orleans, shooting took place from February to March 2022.
Release:
The movie's release date was moved back from September 16, 2022, to March 24, 2023.[6] It was again postponed, and Sony Pictures now plans to release it on April 28, 2023.
