 CHO3– (Bicarbonate) Gram to mole Conversion:

To convert gram weight to mole we need to find first what is the molecular weight of CHO3– (Bicarbonate). Suppose the molecular weight of CHO3– is M(CHO3–). Now we have to divide the gram weight by molecular mass of Bicarbonate. Then the result gives us a mole number.

mole number of CHO3– (Bicarbonate) = {(grams weight of CHO3–) ÷ Molecular mass of CHO3–}

= {w÷ M(CHO3–)} [suppose w is grams weight of Bicarbonate ]

Example: Suppose a sample of CHO3– has 63.03 grams. Now we have to calculate the mole number of the CHO3–.

Ans: mole = (62.02 ÷ 61.016 )

= 1.0164547004065 mole of Bicarbonate.

Bicarbonate  Gram to mole Conversion

CHO3– (Bicarbonate) mole to grams conversion:

If we know the mole number of Bicarbonate and we want to calculate grams then we again need molecular mass of CHO3–. We know that the molecular mass of CHO3– is 61.016. To calculate grams we need to multiply mole numbers with molecular mass of Bicarbonate. If molecular mass of CHO3– is M(CHO3–) and mole number is m(CHO3–) then

m(CHO3–) = (mole number of CHO3– × molecular mass )

= {m(CHO3–) × M(CHO3–)}

Example: A sample of CHO3– has 2.01 mole. We have to calculate how much grams of Bicarbonate it equivalent is.

Ans: Here mole number of CHO3–, m(CHO3–) = 2.01

Molecular weight of CHO3–, M(CHO3–) = 61.016

So, gram weight = ( 2.01 × 61.016 )

= 122.64216 gram

How to Calculate Molecular Mass of Bicarbonate (CHO3–):

For calculating molecular mass of Bicarbonate we need atomic mass of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. We know that atomic masses of carbon (C), hydrogen (H) and oxygen (O) are 12.011, 1.00797 and 15.9994 respectively. So molecular mass of Bicarbonate = [atomic mass of carbon (C) + atomic mass of hydrogen (H) + {atomic mass of oxygen (O) × 3}]

= { 12.0111.00797 + (15.9994 × 3) }

= 61.017 gram
