How to Calculate Molecular Mass of Methane (CH4):

For calculating molecular mass of Methane we need atomic mass of carbon and hydrogen. We know that atomic masses of carbon (C) and hydrogen (H) are 12.011 and 1.00797 respectively. So molecular mass of Methane = [atomic mass of carbon (C) +{ atomic mass of hydrogen (H) × 4  }]

= {12.011 + (1.00797 × 4)}

= 16,04288 gram
